Why it matters
Your reported purchases can rise with no change in real orders. If you read that jump as "the ads got better," you may raise a budget for the wrong reason.
Reports so far say attribution windows stay the same. Meta has not said whether the extra purchases feed ad optimization or whether purchase value is included.
Do this now
- Write down the purchases Meta reports for the last 7 days.
- Next to it, write your real orders from your store for the same 7 days.
- After Nov 12, compare the same two numbers again.
If both went up together, good. If only Meta's number jumped, that's the counting, not your ads.
Should you turn it off?
You can switch it off per Pixel: Events Manager, Data sources, your Pixel, Settings. The advice I've seen is to leave it on and only turn it off if Meta's numbers stop matching your real orders. Either way, you need the "before" number to know.
It reportedly does not apply if
- Your customers are in the EU or UK.
- The Pixel is not placed directly on the page.
- Your site does not ask customers to log in with an email or phone number.
